I remember how my mother used to paint. She was amazing... Then she got a good job and forgot all about it. Once she got a stable position in that new company she went back to painting and even began learning to play the piano.
I am probably too pessimistic, but the recession seems to be affection such verticals which are not a survival need. Even restaurants are going crazy because people prefer to save money and eat at home. I certainly hope that art will not lose its audience but I see many people redirecting their money elsewhere. 
The recession will get worse... a lot worse.</description>
